My regular website is on hiatus while I blog my trip to Mexico.

Day 1
Not really day one. Day one was my arrival in Mexico City and I was really very tired and did nothing but rest. I stayed at the place I found last year, hostelmexicodf. The people that run it are fantastic, helpful, warm and friendly. It's very near the airport and in a real Mexico City neighborhood.
During my visit last year, Abraham recommend that I visit Puebla, a city not far from Mexico City. So I'm in Puebla.
The Centro Historico is impressive. I'm only here for a day, so I just skimmed the surface. Went to the Zocolo and next to that one of the biggest Spanish Colonial Cathedrals in Mexico.
And it has one of the oldest libraries on North America. Beautiful room. No photos allowed inside, so I grabbed this one from the hall.
I did grab another inside with my phone, just to stay in practice. The only books they have open for inspection are manuals about exorcisms. Hundreds of years old and in Latin of course. They didn't look that well used.
I bumped into an exhibit of paintings on the theme of Day of The Dead.
And I had a minor or major disaster. I haven't decided which yet. A function on my digital camera that was dodgy is now completely defunct. For the photo hip out there, it means I can't shoot with manual settings in RAW images. Takes away some of the quality, but I'll live. I have my pinhole camera with me, and a Holga and a little 35mm film camera.
I was also "interviewed" by some school kids as part of their English instruction. One kid tried to ask me questions in English while another shot video with a phone. Great fun. I sat them down with other kids in class for a photo.
A good day. Off to Oaxaca tomorrow.
My account of this trip will now move to the Mexico Blog page.
A brief tour of Puebla
